Common Questions
What is the typical weekly schedule for clinical rotations?
Students are expected to commit to a full-time clinical schedule, typically Monday through Friday. However, occasional weekend or evening field-based testing sessions may be required, depending on athletic training and competition schedules, to provide a comprehensive sports medicine experience.
Who provides direct clinical supervision for students?
Clinical rotations are directly supervised by Dr. Taiwo Adeshigbin, PT, DPT, OCS. Having someone who is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and former professional soccer player as your clinical instructor ensures high-level mentorship focused on elite athletic performance and evidence-based orthopedic care.
How is student performance evaluated throughout the rotation?
Consistent feedback is a cornerstone of our mentorship. Students participate in brief weekly check-ins to monitor progress, alongside formal midterm and final clinical evaluations using the standard clinical performance instrument required by your university.
What are the language requirements?
Fluency in English is required for all students. While Viva Motion PT is proud to be a bilingual environment serving a large Spanish-speaking community, Spanish fluency is not a prerequisite for rotations. Proficiency is highly valued, and this rotation offers an excellent clinical setting to practice and refine medical Spanish terminology.
